Parenting a child with Type 1 diabetes can be a demanding and stressful experience. At diagnosis we are assured that we will get the hang of things and all that is involved will become our ‘new normal.’ The great news is that this is true. As overwhelming as it seems in the beginning, families do adjust and adapt. However, as parents of children with Type 1 diabetes we all experience the fear, isolation, frustration, grief and enormity of all that is involved with supporting our children.

Mama I’m Low is a place for families living with Type 1 diabetes to feel understood, welcome and safe by offering support, inclusive activities and resources to help our families live a full, happy, healthy and emotionally balanced life.
